Hannah + Tristan: Sunrise at Del Mar Beach in San Diego
Hannah and Tristan are two of my good friends, and when I made plans to come stay with them at their place in San Diego I immediately knew that we’d be shooting. They didn’t, but that’s the great thing about them being my friends - forced modeling. We spent the week watching sunsets on the beach and driving up and down the coast and watching trashy tv in our sweatpants together like a true little family, which is great on account of me being their now adopted child.
On my last day in California, we woke up before the sun to catch the sunrise at Del Mar beach, and we got a little wild in the freezing cold water. It was amazing, and if I could just spend a week with each and every one of my couples, I 100% would. The level of connection and comfort and ease and unselfconsciousness I’m able to capture between two people who know me and who are at ease around me is incomparable to just rocking up and shooting cold, stiff poses between two complete strangers. Connection is errythang, you guys. So, to my couples: let’s connect. Over pizza, over coffee, over drinks. Let’s carve out some time to laugh and chat and tell funny stories to each other.
